International Congress Center

My Master's university project:
International Congress Center
(in algerian desert)
Our plate is on the edge of a cliff facing the ancient city, enjoying the panoramic views of the palm groves of the old KSAR and the lake of EL GOLEA; the site is rectangular in size 255 by 214 m, oriented to the north-east, surrounded by:
- Houses of different types.
- tourists residence + landscaped esplanade to the south-east.
- tourists residence in the north west.
- the cliff on the south-west side.
Our site is very well served. It is accessible from the boulevard on the north-east side and two tertiary lanes on the north-west and south-east side.
Speaking now of the genesis of the form so we started by detecting the presence of 3 axes of force:
* the first axis which connects between the urban park and the palm plantation of the old city that we have materialized by a sheared circle.
* the second axis connects the new town and the old town crossing the cliff on which we have projected a parallelepiped.
* We also projected a second parallelepiped on the 3rd axis oriented towards the lake of hassi lgara which is considered as a site of international importance according to RAMSAR.
* Then we created 2 large patios with reference to the local architecture (Ksorian architecture) and to ensure the penetration of light and natural ventilation.
* And finally To better integrate the building into the its  environment, we were inspired by local architecture and desert dunes so we choose a fluid roof for the entire project.
